    Andrea Appolloni

    Nellos' Partner @ University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy

    Andrea Appolloni is an Associate and executive professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in Italy. He is also a permanent visiting fellow at Cranfield University in the UK and Research Associate at the Italian Research Council (CNR). His research areas and teaching activities are concentrated on Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement Management with a focus on Sustainability. At the University of Tor Vergata, his lead of the specialization on Supply Chain Management at the Master of Science in Business Administration and he is the coordinator of the ESA_LAB@UNITOV, a research space center supported by the European Space Agency.

  • Maria Elena Bruni

    Maria Elena Bruni

    Maria Elena Bruni is currently an Associate Professor of operations research with the University of Calabria. She is the coauthor of more than 70 articles published on peer-reviewed international journals and two book chapters. Her research interests include on mathematical models and methods for the solution of challenging problems in logistics, health care, and energy. She received the Best Paper Prize in 2015 from the U.K. Institute of Mathematics and its Applications for a paper published in IMA Journal on Management Mathematics.

    Maria Alice Trindade Moreira

    Maria Alice Trindade is a Clinical Professor at Texas A&M. Maria Alice worked at SDA Bocconi School of Management (a prestigious university in Italy) and was a Post Doc Researcher under PNNR – GRINS Project. Maria Alice also worked at Catolica Porto Business School and University of Porto as an assistant professor. Her research activities focus on applied research in the retail sector, namely concerning inventory management, procurement, and distribution. Her current research addresses three main questions. The first focuses on the role of resilience and sustainable practices in omnichannel retailers. The second aims at determining the best practices for AI in omnichannel retailers. The third is the Operations Management Teaching. Maria Alice is the author of articles on the subject. Her work has been published in Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Insights. Flexible Services and Manufacturing Journal, International Journal of Management Science and Engineering Management, Operations Research and Decisions, among others. She is a member of the Monitoring Committee of the PhD in Management at Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto and one of the founders of Fink. Maria Alice got a MSc in Management from Faculty of Economics, Oporto University and a PhD in Management from Faculty of Economics, Oporto University.

    Sabine Khalil obtained her Ph.D. in Management of Information Systems from Telecom Paristech in Paris, France. Prior to Illinois State, Sabine was an Assistant Professor at a Business School in Paris for 4 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. Sabine has several publications in Information Systems journals and in conferences such as the Academy of Management, the Information Conference on Information Systems, and the European Conference on Information Systems. Her research interests include technology affordances, organizational agility, and the adoption of new technologies in organizations, such as cloud computing, blockchain, and augmented reality.

    Ivana Nacinovic Braje, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Department of Organization and Management, Faculty of Economic and Business, University of Zagreb, Croatia. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Business Economics from the University of Zagreb. She participated in several national and international projects funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, Croatian Ministry of Science, education and sports, European Commission TEMPUS_JEP, European Delphi Study - Fraunhofer ISI Institute. She is member of various editorial boards like: Journal of Management and Marketing, Applied Economics and Business Review, Open Journal of Industrial and Business Management, European Business and Management.

    Kosjenka Dumancic is Associate Professor at the Department of Law, Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb. She is Vice Dean for international cooperation and projects and Vice Head of Department. She is also Vice Director of the Institute for Euro-Asian Studies. She gives lectures in Commercial Law, European Company Law, European Market Law, European Company Law, Law of international trade in English and Croatian.

    Dr Anna Farmaki is Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism Management and Hospitality at the Cyprus University of Technology. Her primary research interests lie in the areas of tourism planning and development and tourist behaviour. Dr Farmaki has a rich publication record, having published more than 60 articles (both as a sole author and a co-author) in high-ranked, peer-reviewed academic journals. She has also edited and co-edited several books published by reputable publishing houses. Dr Farmaki is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and a management committee member in the EU COST Actions TU1408 (Air Transport and Regional Development), CA16121 (Sharing and Caring) and CA20137 (Making Young Researchers’ Voices Heard for Gender Equality).

    Cristina Miguel Martos is currently a Honorary Visiting Research Fellow at Henley Business School, United Kindom. She holds a BA in Advertising and Public Relations by the University of the Basque Country, Spain (2002). After more than five years working in the Internet industry in Barcelona, she studied an MS in Interactive Digital Communication at the University of Vic, Spain (2010). In 2012, she moved to the UK to conduct a PhD in Media & Communications at the University of Leeds. Her PhD focused on intimacy in the age of social media. At the University of Leeds, she worked as a teaching assistant (2012-2014). In 2013, she started to work as a Part-Time Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, UK, where she became a Senior Lecturer in 2016. In 2021, she moved to the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where she promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. She is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Reading, UK, where she collaborates in different research projects. Her main research interests are related to Digital Culture (mediated intimacy, online privacy, and self-presentation on social media) and the Digital Economy (the sharing economy, social media influencers and digital nomadism).

    Nilay Bicakcioglu-Peynirci is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Marketing at the Department of Strategy and Marketing, University of Sussex Business School. Before joining the University of Sussex, she was a visiting researcher at Cardiff Business School, University of Cardiff, sponsored by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Dokuz Eylul University, where she has worked as a Research Assistant and Senior Lecturer. Nilay is a marketing strategist with an international focus. Specifically, her research interest focuses on international marketing, marketing strategy, business-to-business marketing, cross-cultural consumer behavior, sustainable consumption, and innovation. Her research has appeared in the British Journal of Management, Journal of International Marketing, International Business Review, International Marketing Review, Journal of Marketing Management, and many others (Google Scholar h-index: 11). She has presented her research at several international conferences such as The European Marketing Academy Conference (EMAC), the Academy of International Business (AIB), the American Marketing Association Global Marketing Special Interest Group Conference (AMA Global Marketing SIG), American Marketing Association (AMA) Summer Academic Conference and Consortium for International Marketing Research (CIMAR). She sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, and International Marketing Review. She holds several regular and Ad-Hoc reviewer roles for the International Marketing Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business Ethics, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management over than seven years. She received the 2024 Research Excellence Award for Emerging Scholars and she has been nominated for the Sussex Education Awards 2024.

    Berna Kirkulak-Uludag

    Berna Kirkulak-Uludag is a finance professor at Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Business, in Turkey, an adjunct faculty member at Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands, and a visiting professor at Southeast University in China. Currently, she is a Fulbright vising scholar at Harvard University Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies. She received her PhD in economics from Hokkaido University in Japan. Her research interests lie in the areas of Chinese financial markets, environmental degradation, resource economics, sharing economy and migration. She has involved in a number of research projects including TUBITAK (Turkish Education High Council), UNESCO, ERASMUS+, and EU COST Actions. Currently, she is a Management Committee (MC) member for “China in Europe Research Network” and Working Group member for “Connecting Theory and Practical Issues of Migration and Religious Diversity” COST Action projects funded by EU. Her papers have been published in top-tier journals including Journal of Cleaner Production, Sustainability, Resources Policy, Applied Economics, the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, PlosOne, among others. She is also the author of the book chapter “China’s ambition in promoting green finance for the Belt and Road Initiative “(2022, forthcoming) and numerous other book chapters.
